Providing nothing unexpected happens \ (says the Sydney Shipping List) a new cargo line will shortly be established to run between Australia and British Co- j lumbia. The decision has, it is said, - been arrived at owing to the large amount of cargo the mail steamers in the Canadian-Australian service are unable to accommodate and which has hitherto been coped with by the Union Company chartering a vessel to take the berth at Vancouver as occasion warranted. Now it is understood arrangements are well in hand to secure regular sailings both f pin Vancouver and Sydney; in fact it is believed that the s.s. Waitemata will be the pioneer vessel from this end, being timed to get away at a very near date.
