The message in the bottle purporting •to Lave been signed by a member of the crew of the missing dredge Manchester, was received by the Marine Department to-day. At a meeting of the managers of the Technical School to-day, the tender of McLellan for the erection of a new building was accepted, the price is £2642 17s 4d deductions having been made on account of modifications of plans. Mr. White's tender was originally accepted, but it was subsequently found that ite acceptance was illegal ns the Board was not properly constituted and he recently withdrew it. Helen Shepherd Copland, schoolmistress at Ealing, aged 24 years, today pleaded guilty to a charge of the theft of £37 from the house of Francis Forsyth, of Ealing.
