Mr. Acland, M.P., at a Liberal meeting at Taunton, said that Dr. Wilson's election was a victory for the reduction of tariffs. Allowing for all doubtful States, the Republicans and Democrats' count is exactly half, •with a Democratic Vice-President, thus giving the Democrats the casting vote.
