THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 1012. LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Thursday. The Council resumed at 2.30 p.m. The following Bills were put through all stages: State Guaranteed Advances, Monopoly Prevention Amendment, Fisheries Amendment, Shipping and Seamen's Amendment, and Telephone Lines Amendment. A message was received from the House that it had disagreed witli the Council's amendments in the WashingUp Bill, the Speaker having ruled the new clause out of order, in that it was foreign to the Bill. The Hon. Mr. Rigg moved that the Council insist upon its amendment that the successor to Ngakaraihe Te Rango (deceased) should he allowed a fresh judicial enquiry into their claims to a deceased sister's estate. After discussion the motion was agreed to by 8 to 4. The Council rose at 7 till 8 p.m. The Council, on resuming at 8.15 p.m., agreed to the report of the managers regarding the Washing-Up Bill, leaving the matter of the amendment in abeyance. The Appropriation Bill passed all stages. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES The House adjourned for breakfast at

8.25, and resumed at 9.30. On resuming the Monopolies Prevention Amendment Bill, the Fisheries Amendment Bill, the Harbor Amendment Bill, and the Shipping and Seamen's Amendment Bill were put through all stages and passed without amendment. The House went into committee on the Mokau Jones Committee's report. ' The Country Telephone Bill, enabling county councils to erect and maintain telephones by way of a special loan, was put through all stages. The House went into committee on the Supplementary Estimates, and adjourned at 1.10 p.m. till 2.30 p.m. THE WASHING-UP BILL. Wellington, Last Night. The House disagreed with the amendment made by the Council to the Wash-ing-Up Bill, and' Messrs. Herries, Massey and Russell were appointed a committee to draw up reasons. The House then adjourned. The House resumed at 7.30 p.m., when the Appropriation Bill was passed. THE END OF THE SESSION. The Shipping and Seamen's Amendment Bill was reported by the Speaker as ho ing reserved for the Royal assent, and the House finally adjourned just before midnight. BUSINESS TRANSACTED .
