CHRISTIAN ENDEAVOR UNION.
A meeting of the executive committee of the South Taranaki Christian Endeavor Union was held in Stratford on-Mon-day. Present: The Rev. Metson (president), Miss Ambury (New Plymouth), Miss L. Codv (Patea), Miss A. Phillips (Eltham), Miss G. Everiss (Stratford), Miss H. White (treasurer), Mr. C. Rubs (Stratford), and secretary. It was resolved to send a letter of consolation, to the Rev. Mr. White, expressing the deep sympathy of tne Union with him in his sad loss. | The Junior Societies' Superintendent. I —Miss Stewart, of New Plymouth, was appointed to this position, with Mr. Cobham, also of New Plymouth, as assMavt, these appointments to be considered as unofficial until such time a 8 the constitution can be amended to allow their being officially appointed by the Union. It was decided to hold a picnic on New Year's Day, 1013, if possible at Hawera. The Hawera Societies are to be asked to make arrangements. Miss Mirch's suggestion that the date of the Rally be altered on account of the New Zealand Bible Class Union's annual camp being held at Wanganui, was duly considered, but, owing to the fact that the constitution stipulates Good Friday as the date of the Rally, and owing to there being no general holiday till June, it was decided that no action could be taken re this matter. It was decided to set up a committee, consisting of Messrs. Cobham (New Plymouth), E. Dixon (Hawera), J. W. Russell (Kalcaramea), and the president, vice-presidents and secretary, to consider suggested alterations to the constitution, to amend same, and to place amended constitution before the executive committee at its next meeting, prior to placing same before the Union. It was also decided to request all the societies in the Union to forward membership returns, together with the reports as stipulated in resolution passed at the meeting held on April '2O last. It was decided that the Whiteley Society be written to, stating the executive's extreme regret- at the. cessation ; of that society's meetings, and, suggesting that the late oflloers of -the society call a meeting of the young people of the church to consider re-starting the society, at which meeting, the , officers j of the Union will be present. —Stratford ) correspondent.
