STRINGENT REGULATIONS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright, Received 6, 10 p.m. Sydney, November 6. Regulations governing cinematographs have been gazetted. They prohibit th< representation of scenes suggesting im morality, indecency, executions, mur ders and other revolting sight®, togethei with scenes of debauchery, low habits and other scenes tending to demoralise the young. There is also prohibited sue cessful crime, such as bushranging, robberies and other lawless acts, which may reasonably be considered to have an injurious influence on youthful minds. The programmes must be submitted to the police for approval, accompanied by a synopsis of each item. The films must if necessary, be screened for the information of the police. Pending the decision of the Minister, a censor may require the exhibition t,o be deferred. The pen--1 alty provided is up to £2O.
