DESERTING SEAMEN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Wedncsdav. Seven seamen from the Rakaia, v.'ito absented themselves from the vessel without leave, were to-day each fined two day s pay and ordered to pay Ss costs or go to gaol for 48 hours. They are' to be placed on the steamer before she sails. The men say they left because there was a "scab" on board.
