A SENSATIONAL TRAGEDY. Sydney, November 5. A tragedy has taken place at Spring Terrace, near ,Orange. It is stated that a boy named Duncan, aged fifteen, shot his pmployer, a farmer named Connolly, dead after family prayers in which the murderer participated. He got a shot gun and fired through the window as Connolly was retiring to bed. In a confession to the police Duncan said , the deed was due to rough treatment and threats to return him to the State tckool. BLOCK TEN COMPANY. Sydney, November 5. The Broken Hill Block Ten Company's net profits for the past half year are £30,049. The working costs were 22s 7d per ton, compared with 18s Od for the last corresponding half year. The increase is due to labor conditions. MX. MORGAN RETURNS. Brisbane, November 5. Mount Morgan returns for October show that the gold reduction works produced 2793 ounces and the copper works 853 tons of copper and 11,422 ounces of gold, of the total value ef £90,214. The gold contents of the copper showed a marked improvement, averaging 7.7Bdwt per ton, compared with 0.40 dwt in September. <
