MASQUERADING. By Telegraph —Press Association. Dunedin, Tuesday. A woman who has been masquerading M a man for some time past was discovered in her hoarding-house last night in an unconscious.condition,-with a dead female child by her side. She was known as Thomas Parker. The woman is in' a serious condition. A RASH EXPERIMENT. Dannevirke, Tuesday. The local Territorials were unexpectedly under fire last evening. At the weekly parade, one of the number, out of curiosity, inserted a dum-dum cartridge, a relic of the South African war, into the barrel of his rifle. Thinking the snot had been exploded,, he pulled the trigger. The cartridge discharged, tearing a large hole in the floor of the drill hall. Many cadets were in the hall at ' the time. The. offender was severely reprimanded. ANOTHER HOSPITAL TROUBLE. Masterton, Tuesday. Trouble has been brewing over the suspension of a nurse at the Masterton , Hospital, and also over administrative matters in connection with the institution for some time; and the climax has been reached by Messrs. Ewington, Keith, O'Leary, Cameron and Jackson, members of the Hospital Board, resigning. The relations among members oi the nursing staff are reported to be strained, and some interesting, developments are expected to follow. HAMILTON MOTOR COMPANY. Hamilton, Tuesday. At a meeting of Hamilton business men last night, it was decided to form a motor transport company with a capital of £3OOO, and to institute a motor 'bus' service between Hamilton and ' Franklin, a distance of one mile, so as to bring Hamilton within easier touch with the Main Trunk train passengers-.
