WELLINGTON SESSIONS.

The criminal sessions of the Supreme Court opened to-day before the Chief Justice. The calendar is a light one. William Thomas McKvoy, a young man who had pleaded guilty at Waverley to charges of forgery, theft and false pretences, was admitted to twelve months' probation and ordered to repay the money obtained. Georga Lee, aged 75 years, admitted a charge of housebreaking, and was sentenced to three years' imprisonment, and was declared an habitual criminal. Wellington, Last Night.
At the Supreme Court to-day, Arthur Henry Widdas, charged on two counts with having assaulted John Alfred Leahy, was found guilty on the second count of assault causing hodily harm, and was remanded till Thursday for sentence.

The Supreme Court sessions opened today before Mr. Justice Chapman, who congratulated the grand jury for the freedom of the district from serious crime William Henry Coles was found guilty of theft of various articles from a furniture dealer, and was sentenced to eighteen months' imprisonment. Coles was a police constable, and the thefts were committed while he was on night duty. The criminal sessions closed.
