Received 2, 7.25 p.m. Flemington, November 2, The Flemington meeting opened today. Unfortunately showers fell during the morning, and 'rain fell steadily at noon, and continued until the Derby was run. The new stand accommodated the large crowd, who were squeezed out of the other stands. Several State Gubematorials arrived before the first race. Results: Maiden Plate, of 300 sovs.; one mile.— Moe, 1; Onega, 2; Waggle, 3. John McElhone, Knight of Malta, Rathfarnham and Loch Amos also started. Moe, after a few strides, took the lead from Onega, Amos and John McElhone, Waggle lying last. Onega passed Moe, and led by two lengths from John McElhone, Rathfarnham and Amos. Moe led round the turn and increased his lead at every stride, winning easily by four lengths, with half a length between second and third. Time, lmin. 42% sec. MARIBYRNONG PLATE, of 20 sovs. each, with 1500 sovs. added; five furlongs. Mr. J. E. O'Brien's bv c Berragoon, by Multiform —Wigelmar, 9.0 1 Mr. J. X. Ordinal lod to the turn, well on the outside, from Berragoon, Pinkerton,Kildalton and Milly Hilton. Pinkerton made an effort and passed Berragoon at the distance, where Ordinal was lying third, from Maltravers, Kildalton and Milly Hilton. The topweight immediately took charge, and won by two lengths, with three-quarters of a length between second and third. Time, lmin. 2sec. Ilotham Handicap, of 300 sovs.; one mile and a half. —Lord Alwyne, 7.11, 1; Nangar, 8.5, 2; Golden Point, 8.5, 3. Hallowmass 8.3, Sandbatli 8.1, Shuja 8.1, Blind Harry 7.7, Mountain Oak 7.5, Adgio 7.3, Pearl King 7.1, Salvator Rosa 6.13, Uncle Matt 6.0. and Deacon Skinner 6.7, also started. Pearl King led out of the straight from Salvator Rosa and Shuja. At the bridge Pearl King led by five lengths from Nangar, and Salvator Rosa, with Golden Point last. Nangar ran up to Pearl King, followed by Shuja. Pearl King led to the straight a length clear from Nangar, Lord Alwyne and Shuja. Lord Alwyne was in front at the distance from Nangar and Golden Point, and in a very fast run home won by half a length, with four lengths between second and third. Time, 2min. 36% sec. •Shuja finished seventh, and Salvator Rosa was last. VICTORIAN DERBY, of 30 sovs. each, with 3000 sovs. added; second horse 600 sovs., and third 300 sovs. from the stake. Cider led into the straight from Wolawa, Burrawang and Aurifer. Wolawa led at the distance, and won by three-quarters of a length, with half a length between seconct and third. Duke Foote led into the straight, when he was warmly challenged by Eudorus, but holding the imported horse safe he won by half a length, with three 1 lengths between second and third. As they passed the stand Soldiers' Chorus had taken second place from Odessa, while Allegory was running at tile head of the others. So they ran to the mile post and along the ibaek where Haskayne was followed by Obligant, Odessa and Soldiers' Chorus, with Undecided at the head of the others. A furlong further on Haskayne was still in charge, but nearing the five furlong post Masterpiece, who had. been running alongside Allegory, improved his posii tion and took fifth place as the top of I the turn was reached. At this stage ' Haskayne was still in front, with Undecided and Soldiers' Chorus at the head of the others. As they rounded the turn into the straight, Masterpiece put in his run on the outside, and half-way down had taken charge. Midnight Sun then put in a claim, and finishing well -got up in time to beat Masterpiece by half a head. Sinapis, who came from a long way back, was a length and a half away third, with Soldiers' Chorus a length further back fourth. Then came Haskayne, Odessa.
