THE CANADIAN CADETS.
ENTERTAINED IX CIIRISTCHURCH. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christehurch, Last Night. The Canadian Cadets were taken for a tram ride to Cashmere Hills this morning, and were addressed by Mr. Geo. T. Booth, chairman of the Tramway Board, whose guests the Cadets were. Captain Davy, replying, said that they were all glad to have so good an opportunity of seeing so much of "God's Own Country." It seemed to be characteristic of the New Zealand people to try to kill their visitors by kindness. Then, he was glad to say that the people seemed more considerate to them and remembered the great spell of banquets and entertainments they had behind them in the south, and it would be the same in the north when they went up the big rivei and to the hot lakes. He did not think they appreciated or understood how much all appreciated the opportunity to get out and see something of the country. It gave them a much better idea of the land than being hedged in in a crowded banquet ting hall. In the afternoon the Cadets went to the C.J.C. race meeting.
