THE KING'S PRIZE. By Telegraph—Press Assoc»ti*». Melbourne. November 1. In the King's Prize, Thurlow, Smith Australia, 324 points, was first; Crane, Bcndigo, with 322 points, being the run-ner-up. The Defence Club's championship matches will probably be commenced next Tmirsday afternoon. A meeting will be held on Tuesday to finally fix on.the day. There was an attendance of about 16 on the range on Thursday last, when practice over the long ranges—Boo, 900 and 1000 yards—was indulged in by riflemen and Territorials. .Some fair shooting was done, the top score being 03. Several made over 00.
