NEW SOUTH WALES LOAN. London, October 30. New South Wales scrip is quoted at 1 1-16 per cent, discount for cash. The unenvritcrs have taken 52 per cent, of the New South Wales loan. The public, mostly small investors, subscribed about half the loan.
WEBSTER BROS.' REPORT. Poultry—On Saturday last we had our pens well filled with birds of all classes, ducks, fat hens and cockerels being in good demand. Prices as under:—Hens (fat) 2s to 2s Bd, young 2s lid to 3s Bd, pullets (young) 2s to 2s Gd, forward 2s 5d to 4s Gd, ducks 2s 7d to 2s lOd, drakes 2s !)d to 3s Id, ducklings (young) 9d to Is iy a d, forward Is 3d to Is Bd, bantams 4d to Is (id, trio Indian Game 12s Gd, hens and chicks 5s to 5s 6d, hen and ducklings Gs fid.
The usual line of auction sundries realised satisfactory prices.
Fruit.—During the week we have handled a fair quantity of fruit. Prices realised ak under:—Bananas (ripe) 3d lb, green 14s 9d to las case, oranges (repacks) 17s 6d to 18s Gd, apples (American colored dessert) 15s fid to 16s, lemons 7s to 9s, "poor-man" oranges 3s Gd to 4s, green peas (first of season) Is 4d peck, walnuts 7%d lb, peanuts 2%d lb
