The mystery of the jewellery robbery from the strong room of Messrs Harris jand Scarfe, has been solved. Bert Tsaacsen, the liftman, was discovered on the premises, and informed the detectives where a portion of the missing jewellery, valued at £75, was concealed, lie admitted that he had two accomplices.
A WOMAN MURDERED. Fremantle, October 30.
A -French settler, named Marius Martin, gave a neighbor 3, sealed note stating that Mrs. Martin has been murdered. ITer body was found in Martin's ihouse, hacked about the head with a tomahawk. Martin is missing.
THE OLYMPIC GAMES. Fremantle, October 30.
Mr. Horniman, manager of the Australian Olympic team, has arrived. He said he was pleased with the record of the team. The Australian oarsmen, in one hit, did what it took the cricketers years to accomplish. Only world's champions had any hope at Olympia. They should try to send world's champions. He did not consider that the idea of an Empire team was workable, as the component parts did not desire it. Germans were rery systematic and thorough, and would be serio'us competitors at the next Olympic Games.
