Port Aluiriri, Tuesday.—Arrived, at 12.30 p.m., Kaitangata, from Newcastle. Wellington, Tuesday—Arrived, at 12.51 p.m., Haupiri, from New Plymouth. THE CORINNA. The Corinna yesterday loaded 9000 boxes of butter for transhipment to the Arawa (for London) and 700 boxes for the Tahiti (for San Francisco), besides a large quantity of general cargo, and sailed .about 2 p.m. for Wellington. THE MOA. Phe Moa completed the discharge of her cargo yesterday afternoon and sailed in the evening for Greymouth, at irfcicb port she loads coal for Wanganui. THE FLORA. The Flora is due here this morning from southern ports with about 300 tons of general cargo. She proceds to Westport and Greymouth after discharging. THE PETONE. The Petone is expected to arrive here this morning from Greymouth with i about 800 tons of Blackball coal for the Railway Department. LARGEST MOTOR SHIP. 15,000-TON OIL VESSEL IN GERMANY. Messrs Krupp's Germania dockyard at Kiel is building for the German branch of the Standard Oil Company the largest motor-driven vessel yet constructed. It will have a carrying capacity of 15,000 tons and will be the largest "tank steamer" afloat. Hitherto the vessels built for the transport of oil from Amerie* to Europe have carried only 8000 tons. The new ship will be 420 ft long and Coft beam. It will be propelled by two Diesel oil engines. These develop 1800h.p. and a speed of ten knots. Fourteen motor ships, ranging in tonnage from 4500 to 15,000, are now said to be under construction in Germany. The Selandia (Danish East India Company), the largest motor vessel afloat at present, is of 7000 tons, and her success lias led the i owners to order two vessels of 10,000 [ tons. Five oil-driven vessels of 10,000 Ims are also said to be under construction for the .Italian General Navigation i Company. The oil-driven ships have no funnel, and the gas escapes through a hollow mast.
