The following weather summary and forecast was-issued by the Meteorological Office at ,5 p.m.:—Summary: Anti-cy-clonic conditions, with fair to cloudy ■weather,' have prevailed since Sunday, ■with moderate to strong and variable ■winds. A westerly gale is, however, reported this afternoon at Farewell Spit. Forecast: Present indications are for fair to cloudy weather generally, and unsettled and squally weather at times, «outh of New Plymouth and Napier; showery on the west coast and southern districts especially. Expect moderate to strong westerly to south-westerly winds. The barometer is unsteady, with a falling tendency at present.
