The rteiil-licr lias been iino' but cool, The improvement noted in our; last report h'as been maintained, and .'a fair amonrit of l-lisiness has been done.'

Ditnish: Tiirre lias boon a gop4market 'and the quotation has been, 'raised two kroner. ' : * I ' ;

Siberian: The quantity tp hand tliis week is about the same as last,' najnoly. 1-2,000 tasks, and any buttersthat answer to. this description are sold easily, ;)nd there, ifj better! enquiry for. medium quality, ■ but ttye ,Very low which are classed as cbhfectionery, are still neglected. . , French: There is a steady demand' at firm prices. '• ' AiistYalia.il: A few hundred boxfl* were landed t-hiri week per s.s. 'Shropshire and Otranto, and they have been easily sold-. There has also been a fair demand for the stored goods, and several parcels have been cleared. The market-is. certainly looking better than 'it has done for some time past, and it seems to us that prices will be pretty high by the time the new season's goods arrive. New Zealand: There is practically nothing doing. Buyers are still declining to pay the price demanded by factories for the season's supply, and prefer to wait until the goods arrive and pay market price for them at the time.

Cheese.—There has been very little buying this week, and the market continues dull, and values are again lower. This is expected to he only a temporary lull, as the trade generally have great confidence in the future.

LONDON MARKETS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. and Reduced, have received the following cablegram from their London house, under date October 23: Tallow—We quote present spot values for the following descriptions: Good mutton 3f)s 3d per cwt., good 30s, mixed 32s fid. The market is quiet.

Wheat—We have sold an Australian parcel at 39s 3d, c.i.f. The market is firm hut inactive, and the outlook is uncertain.

Oats- -We quote: (Virions 255, Spar-row-bills 245. The demand is restricted.
