The following weather summary and forecast was' issued by the Government Meteorologist aj 5 p.m.:—Summary: The cyclone has passed eastward of East Cape, and been neutralised to a certain extent by the advent of a westerly low pressure, which has enveloped the South Island Strong southerly winds have predominated. Forecast: Present indications are for westerly to southwesterly winds, strong to a gale, with cold and showery weather. Hail squalls are probable in the south, and snow on the higher levels. The "barometer is very unsteady, and a further fall in the South, Island is likely to take place before a decided rise is experienced.
