The figures presented at the opening of the Australasian Fruit-growers' Conference showed that since 1901 New South Wales orchards had decreased by 1000 acres and the export of fruit had largely decreased. Mr. Melvee (New Zealand) stated that during four years the Dominion's orchards had increased by 7000 acres, and now occupied 35,000 acres.
