W ; Wright, 6—2, G—3. Doubles.—Wright and Jones beat Clark and S. Jones, o—2, o—3. Ladies' Doubles—Misses Jones and D. Gordon beat Mrs Ford and Miss Williams (the previous holders), 2—6. C—4 7—5. Mixed Doubles.—A. B. Jones and Miss Gordon beat Wright and Mrs. Beatty, G—3, o—l. A. Jones's*play is considered to render! his selection in the Davis Cup team certain. Mr. Brookes, the selector, was not present at the tournament. Jones and ! Horace Rice will play for him when they are passing through Melbourne en route i to Westralia.
I NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. I ANNUAL MEETING. Twenty-one members attended the annual meeting of the New Plymouth Ten-' nis Club 'which was held on Saturday, night. The President (Dr. Leabham) was in the chair. Commenting on the annual report and balance-sheet (previously published l in the News), which was read and adopted, the President congratulated members on the healthy state of affairs financially and otherwise. Officers for tlhe ensuing year Were elected as follows:—President, Dr. Leatham (re-elected); vice-president, Dr. 'Home (re-elected); hon. secretary and j treasurer, Mr. H. Stocker (re-elected); ■ management committee, Messrs. A. C. Thompson, E. W. Griffiths, J. C. Nicholson, I. Grant, C. Webster; hon. auditor, < Mr. J. C. Nicholson (re-elected). ' A vote of thanks was accorded the • ladies for their assistance during last ,season.
