FEDERATION OF LABOR.
WELLINGTON WATERSIDERS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The Auckland meeting of watersiders arranged for to-day, to discuss the question of the strike, was postoned until Sunday on instructions from the Federation of Labor. It is reported that a good number of general laborers on etrike are asking to be taken back to employment. AUCKLAND TRAMWAY UNION SECEDES. Auckland, Last Night. The Tramways Union to-day decided by a large, 'majority to secede from the Federation of Labor. A secret ballot, at which a record vote was taken, resulted as follows: In favor of withdrawal 341, against withdrawal 171, majority for withdrawal 170. The result of the voting is thought to be partly due to the hostilei demonstration against the .traimviiymeii on the recent occasion of the 24 hours strike, in. which they declined to participate. The treatment accorded them roused their indignation, and doubtless weighed in the balance at to-day's ballot.
