PERSONAL.

Mr. G. T. Murray, Resident Road Engineer, who has been away on a holiday trip to Sydney and the Blue Mountains during the past month returned to New Plymouth by last night's mail train. The. Agricultural Society's secretary (Mr. A. Cliff) leaves on Monday for Carterton, having been authorised by the Society to attend the various spring shows with the object of furthering the interests of that iiodv.

Mr. Jacob Marx has been appointed to represent the combined districts of those parts of the counties of Elthain and Hawera which are included in the New Plymouth -harbour district, ill succession to the late Mr. Swadling. The appointment is made by the Governor-in-Coun-cil.

A large and representative gathering of citizens and members of local bodies paid their last respects to the late Mr. T. S. Weston, whose remains were interred in the Te Henui Cemetery yesterday afternoon. The pall-hearers were: Messrs. J. B. Roy, A. IT. Johnstone, H. R. Billing, and P. M. Cottier. The chief mourners were the deceased gentlemen's four sons (Messrs. T. S., G. T., W. C., and C. 11. his brother (Mr. Henry Weston), and Mr. R. Hill. The last rites were administered by the Rev. S. S. Osborne. .Many beautiful wreaths were received by the relatives of the late Mr. Weston, including those from the Taranaki District Law Society, the Canterbury Law Society, and the Canterbury Ooliege Board of Governors, with all of which bodies the deceased was at one time prominently associated. The cortege was a very large one.
