THE CARRINGTON STAKES. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, October 10. Tattersall's Club has increased the prize money in the Carrington Stakes to £IOOO. CAULFIELD NOTES. Caul field, October 10. At Caulfield the weather was fine. Flaith did ten furlongs in 2rain if>sec. Trafalgar is still a doubtful starter. Endorus, on the sand, did a mile in linin 47% sec; Golden Shore and Menkawrah did two furlongs in 25see; Mower, Avonwort, Tadanga and Magae did three furlongs in 38see. METROPOLITAN COMMITTEE. At a meeting of the Taranaki Metropolitan Committee this week the programme of the Egmont Racing Club's meeting for February 5 and 0. 1013, ard the Stratford Racing Club's for January 1 and 2, 1013, were duly approved.
Licenses were granted as. follows: Trainers: F. E. Fuggle. John Melville, T. Jam eg and T. 11. Trask. Jockeys: f. F. Faulkner, T. Pine, T. H. Trask and Jas. Kruse. Gentleman rider: Dr. Pagst. It was resolved that in future, when dealing l with applications for trainers' and jockeys' licenses, the regulation insisting on the preceding year's license being returned with new application be, enforced. At a meeting of the committee of the Taranaki Jockey Club the sub-commit-tee's report relating to the season's programme, showing an increase in s-lakes of £255, was adopted. A resolution was passed calling for tenders for the tea kiosk in terms of the plan submitted by the architect. The committee will meet this afternoon to select the site for'the new building.
