The police 'have arrested the brothers Gaston and Richard Vergouts, the wellknown motor racers, on charges of murdering Provo, a diamond merchant, recently, and Davidson, another diamond merchant, in 1911. LOOTING A GOLD MINE. Berlin, October 13. A telegram from Blagovestchensk says, tliat fifteen armed Chinese attacked a gold mine at the river Silimdja. They killed the owner and another official and wounded others. They seized 81 poods of gold, and were pursued. Six were killed, two drowned and three wounded. Thirty poods of gold ihave been recovered.

STOLEN TRUNES. Paris, October 13. Four trunks containing documents in reference to the liquidation of the Bank of Egypt, in transit to London, were stolen from a cab at the Gare de Lyons (railway station). The thief was l apparently not aware that they have no monetary value.
