PETROLEUM.
The Works Committee of the Borough Council makes the following recommendation regarding the supply of water to the refinery at Moturoa; That the draft deed of agreement with reference to water .supply to the Petroleum Company be approved, subject to the amendments made by the executive committee; and that, subject to the agreement with the New Zealand Oil Wells, Limited, being duly executed, and subject to a formal agreement being entered into for the supply, Messrs. D. Berry and Co.'s tender of £8 12s G<T per ton for 058 nine-foot lengths of 8-inc3i cast-iron mains be accepted. The contract runs into over £IOOO, and besides local firms out side firms tendered.
