A RACING FRAUD. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. Melbourne, October 11. The enquiry of the Tarraglen Hunt Club stewards into the running of The Wave, winner of the Cave Hill Steeple- j chase, resulted in the disqualification of G. O'Neill, bookmaker, and Charles Caylock, trainer, for life, and J. Chevally, the rider of The Wave, for twelve months, for corrupt practices. Two jockeys made statutory declarations that they received £2O each to stop their horses in the race, though they denied stopping them. The trainer declared he was offered £2O each to scratch the horses.

Received 11, 10.30 p.m. • Melbourne, October 11. The Suevic brought a valuable shipment of English thoroughbreds. Among three brood mares for the Allendale stock farm is Nightfall, bred in New Zealand by Mr. J. B. Reid.
