In the tug-of-war semi-finals of the Allcomers Unionist Championship, the Carlton Brewery (Victoria) beat the New Zealand Drivers in one minute twenty-six seconds. The Burns Club beat New Zealand in forty-five seconds. New Zealand pulled twice. In the finals of the International Match Australia beat Scotland at the full time of ten minutes. Allcomers (Carlton) beat the Burns Club in seven minutes fifteen seconds.
