The Borough Council, when the Peace Society's circular came forward last night, passed 1 the f6llowmg resolution unanimously: "That no action'be taken' in the matter, Pahiatua not being an anti-military town, and as far as can be seen being an sympathy with the defence scheme."
HOKITIKA POLICE COURT. Hokitika, Friday. At the Magistrate's Court, Mr. Hewitt, S.M., inflicted a fine of-£lO on the Westland Sawmilling Company for cutting milling timber on scenic reserves near Lake Mahina-pua.- For supplying liquor to a prohibited person, a- young-man was fined £7.
