WAITARA-URENUI RAILWAY.

At the monthly meeting of directors of the Xor ; th Tarana.ki Co-operative Dairy Co., the need of a railway line from VVaitara to a point some three miles north of Urenni was discussed, the directorate being strongly of the opinion that some concerted move should he made in the direction of placing the matter before the proper authority, and carried the following resolution, which will be forwarded on to the .Minister for Railways through the member for the district:--"That in the opinion of this directorate, as representing the farming community of the district between Waitara and Uruti, the time has arrived when the railway should be extended from Waitara to the junction of the Mimi and main roads, the country between these two places being closely settled, and after hearing the expressions of his Excellency the Governor on the adaptability of light railways for the Dominion backbloeks, and taking into considera-■ tion the large amount of vehicular and other traffic on the road, such a railway should pay from its initiation, and the directorate desire to impress on the Government the necessity to take thn matter into the immediate and most 'lavorable consideration.
