SUMMARY AND FORECAST.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The following weather summary and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office at 5 p.m.:—Summary: Fair to cloudy weather, with rain in some parts, has been reported to-day. The barometer has risen in the south and fallen in ,the north, and the winds have been variable. Forecast: Present indications are for very stormy weather shortly, especially on the west coast, southward of Kawhia, and over the South Island. Northerly winds, increasing strong- to gale, warm, and humid conditions, with Tain following generally. The barometer is likely to fall very low in the south ior a westerly storm area, due to pass in the south about Saturday night or Sunday morning.
