AUSTRALIA AND PHILADELPHIA.

The Australian -cricketers won the match against • Philadelphia by 3G3 against 318. They then began a match against the Philadelphia colts, who in their first innings scored ISB. The Australians have lost three wickets for 19 runs.
Owing to the small ■ attendance nf members the annual meeting of the Carrington Road Cricket Club, convened for last night, wag postponed till next Tuesday.
Referring to the recent victory of America over Australia by two runs, Mr. Korthing, in the course of an interview with a Dominion reporter, declared that in his opinion America could put a better cricket team in the field- than South Africa. He said lie would like to see some arrangement that would include America in a world series of matches with four countries in the field —England, Australia, South Africa and America. It was suggested that that arrangement would disturb the "within-the-Empire" idea at present given "effect to, and Mr. Kortlang was asked if Canada could not raise a team. He said that all the decent cricketers in Canada could be told on one hand, and that it would not be feasible to admit Canada as a competitor in big cricket.
