SIR GEORGE REID. New York, October 7
Sir George Roid spent four days in Washington, meeting the British Ambassador and Mr. Barrett, of the PanAmerican Union. He was entertained at lunch by the Chamber of Commerce, and spoke of Australian and American relations.
ELECTROCUTED. Rome, October 7. Professor Polacehi and his wife, while on their honeymoon, were electrocuted and burned to death in bed. Tnc fatality was due to switching an electric light cord around the metal bedposts and contact ensuing with the high tension wires.
THE DYNAMITE OUTRAGES. New York, October 7
Edward Clark, business agent of the International Bridge and Structural Ironworkers, pleaded guilty on 55 counts to conspiracy in connection with the national investigation of dynamite outrages. Forty-five other trade unionists are awaiting trial.
