ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
A SUDDEN DEATH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hastings, Yesterday. A painfully sudden death occurred yesterday at Napier Hospital, when J. W. Weir, aged 26 years, collapsed from heart failure. He had recovered from an operation for appendicitis, and was looking forward to leaving the institution. His only relative in the Dominion is a brother, whose whereabouts are unknown.
KILLED BY A TRUCK. Invercargill, Last Night. Aubrey Kirwin Corrie, a boy aged seven years, was killed in the Winton station yard at 5.30 this evening. He was playing with a companion, and stood on one of the railway tracks when shunting was proceeding. Apparently he did not notice the truck approaching, and a van and a truck passed over him. Death was instantaneous. Deceased was a son of Mr. A. K. Corrio, of Dunedin, and had been staying with his grandparents.
