Considerable!, uneasjhess exists among flaxmill hands in this district at outbreaks of typhoid at certain flaxmills. Four cases arc at present in the Palmerston hospital, one a very serious one. The Health Department is investigating. At a meeting of the Flax-workers' 'Union on Saturday last resolutions bearing on the matter of better drinking supplies than are afforded by the Manawatu and Oroua rivers were passed.
