BETTING ON LICENSED PREMISES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. J. Stellin, who was arrested in a hotel on a warrant charging, him with betting on licensed premises, was remanded till Wednesday. A FIRE BRIGADE TROUBLE. Christchurch, Last Night. Some trouble has arisen, it is reported, in local fire brigade circles, which is said to be due to the administration of the present superintendent, who is alleged to have withdrawn privileges granted to members of the brigade by ex-Superin-tendent Erck. About eighteen men are affected, and they have decided to approach the Fire Board with a request that the present superintendent be removed. If this is not done, the men are reported to be prepared to go on strike.
