If the machinery arrives on the date (the 20th instant) it is drilling should commence by November The earthwork in connection with tb* erection of the refinery buildings on thft* Prison Reserve is 'nearly completed, and a start will very shortly be made with. the concrete foundations. The initial shipment of the refinery plant should, arrive at New Plymouthabout the 20th instant. Drilling has been commenced at the two derricks on the Company's Bell Block property. The Taranaki Oil Options, Limited,. was registered as a private company on August 28 with a capital of £IOO, divided' into 100 shares of £1 each. The subewipers are:—New Plymouth: Eustatius Griffiths, 50; Herbert Winnal Whitcombe, 50, and the objects are to acquire interest in land containing oil and material*and test and work same.
