INGLEWOOD NEWS.

(From Our Own Correspondent). The annual meeting of the Inglewood Cricket Club was held on Monday evening in Messrs Percival and Messengers' office. In the absence of the president, Mr. T. E. Hanwrton (vice-president) presided. There was a fair attendance of members.

The annual report was read as follows: —The committee, in presenting its report on the past season, regrets to record the fact that for various reasons there was les6 interest taken in the game, both in the local club and in North Tara'naki generally, than in previous years. So far as the local club is concerned, however, it should be mentioned that the junior team played on every possible occasion, and having won all its matches was awarded the shield. In the senior competition the New Plymouth and Inglewood clubs were leading, and the former having refused to take forfeits from other teams, the Association coupled the names of these two teams as winners of the Robertson Cup. The statement of receipts and expenditure shows a balance of £2 3s Cd in hand, but against this there are outstanding liabilities of just over £ll. The past season's expenses have been heavier than usual, the club having purchased a roller, new matting and a hew net, and as these are still in hand, the club's finances may be regarded as sound, notwithstanding the existing liabilities. —The report was adopted. The following officers were elected for the coming year.—Patron, Mr. E, Viclcers (re-elected); president, Mr. W. E. Percival (re-elected); vice-presidents, Messrs T. E. Hamerton, G. W. Bennett, A. The following new members were elected:—Messrs Harding, N. Lewes, A. Laing, Bonar and Adlam. It was decided to enter a team for the Saturday competition and two senior teams for the Thursday competition. An amendment that the question of entering two senior Thursday teams be left with the general committee was lost. It was decided to leave the- fixing of the opening day in the hands of the general committee. The question was brought up of increasing members' subscriptions, but as no notice of motion had been given a resolution was passed requesting members to pay an additional five shillings per year, this to apply also to members of the Saturday team residing in the borough.
