A NARROW ESCAPE.

IN THE NICK OF TIME.

By Cable—Press Association—Copyright.

Melbourne, October 2,

A goods train standing at South Kensington Junction re-started, and passed the signal at danger. The driver noticed the mistake and the brakes were applied. A truck was derailed by the sudden stoppage. A signalman, observing the mistake, applied the signals against a picnic special coming on the adjoining line, thus averting a disaster.
