NEW MOUNTAIN HOUSE.
GOVERNOR'S VISIT.
His Excellency the Governor telegraph, ed to the Committee of the new North' Egmont Mountain Housw yesterday thak he would arrive at New Plymouth on Friday morning by special train from Wanganui. His Excellency, who is ta open thei hostel that day, will breakfast at the White Hurt Hotel, leaving foe the mountain at about 11 o'clock. 0* arrival at the mountain he will be th» guest of the Committee at a private luncheon, which is arranged for 1 o'clock iv the new Mountain House. The official opening ceremony will take place ail 2.30 o'clock. At its conclusion afternoon tea will be available for the general public. At the opening ceremony Mr. Newton King (Chairman of ths Guarantors' Committee) will present his Excellency with the key of the hostel. The Governor will then proceed to formally open the building, afterwards handing the key to Mr. G. H. Bullard, Chairman of the National Park Board. Possibly Mr. H. Obey, M.P.. will be in attendance. The public generally intending to be present are asked to make theii own arrangefhents. Before lie returns to Wellington His Excellency will address the fanners ol the district at New Plymouth. The address will be delivered in .the Good Templar Hall at U o'clock on Saturday morning. As a practical farmer. the Governor speaks on the subject of th« soil with considerable authority, and in a manner'at once interesting' atnd instructive. Those who had the pleamir* of listening to his address to the farmers at the last Winter Show at Palmerston North will at once vouch for this.
