STALLION PARADE.
SOME SPLENDID SIRES. s A stallion parade was held at New y I'lyniouth on Saturday afternoon, under e the auspices of the Taranaki Agricule tural Society. Seven sires paraded, I- comprising two thoroughbreds, one trot'l ting stallion, two Clydesdales, and two c ponies. The horses paraded in fair con- ' dition, considering the backward season. '• Most of them could do with a hit of building up, which another month's feed- ! ing should bring about. WILDWOOD CHIEF. | \\ ildwood Chief paraded in splendid fettle. He is a beautifully'proportioned j horse, with grand substance, and a perfeet temper. References to his pedigree ' will show that he conies from the best trotting lines in the southern hemisphere, and lie can easily be ranked . amongst the finest stud horses that Taraj anaki breeders have had the opportunity . of utilising. He is a perfect harness .. horse, and is frequently to be seen i:i a i ST RED RAIN. The thoroughbred Red Ifaiu, is a newcomer to the district. He is a fine up- | standing bay, very powerful, and looks every inch a . racehorse. Coining from the famous St. Leger-Musket strain, 1 and in the light of his racing perfor- . malices, this horse should commend himself to. the attention of racing men, and should, indeed, mate well with any class of mare. EORMBY. For.yibv, another thoroughbred, is a rich-bay,, five years old, built on most 1 symmetrical lines. This is a sire of exceptional, .power, possessing rare bone and :sub.stauee. .
