RUNNING AMOK.
A DESPERATE CRIMINAL. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, September 27. A foreigner, residing in a hotel in Tottenham Court Road, ran amok and shot two barmaids, one of whom was killed, rushed into the street and wounded three of his pursuers, one seriously. He was arrested.

The man who ran amok at Tottenham is named Stephen Titus. He is apparently an Armenian and a man of means. Seeing a barmaid speaking to some men, Titus commenced an altercation. He shot the manageress of the hotel dead, and seriously wounded the barmaid. He re-loaded his revolver in the street and held the crowd at bay. He shot a newsboy and two other persons before being captured after a severe struggle.
