DISTRICT NEWS.
KORU. (From our own correspondent.) A residence on the Koru Road, owned and occupied by Mr. Wilfrid Mace, was destroyed by fire at about 8.20 p.m. on Thursday. Nothing was saved, as no one was home at the time of the lire, Mr. Wilfrid Mace being in New Plymouth. The insurance on the building was not ascertainable at the time of writing, but Mr. Mace must be a heavy loser. This is very hard luck for n farmer, particularly "at this time of tiiyear, when one is ho fully employed milking cows, feeding calves and pigs, etc., without having to devote his tinw to building houses,'besides the inconvenience of being- without a,home. Our factory is running daily now with a reduced supply of milk, owing to some friction having-arisen. Altogether this season -we have lost the milk of 120 cews. It is understood that gome of the suppliers .intend to interview Mr. Neilson, of the Royal Oak Cheese Factory, with a: view to inducing him to erect a cheese factory at Koru.
