CROWN LAND SALE.
SMALL ALLOTTMENTS. A sale of land : was held at the District Lands Office, New Plymouth, yesterday morning, the Commissioner of Crown. Lands..(Mr. G. H. Bullard) wielding the hammer. The land comprised sections in the townships of Maaisrarosi and Matiere, surburban land just out of Matiere, and a bush section in the Ohura County. In nearly every case only the upset price was obtained. The seven lots in the town of Mangaroa all found purchasers, but only four of the 14 town sections at Matiere were disposed of. The suburban land sold much better, while a section of 82 acres on the Ohura River, about two miles from Tokirima Post Office was sold for £44o—the upset price.
