The Employers' Conference carried resolutions pledging it to stand by loyal employees in times of strike and afterwards. It also condemned the surrender of Statu rights to the Commonwealth. THE ARBITRATION ACT. Received 27, 10.10 p.m. Sydney, September 27. At the Employers' Conference a resolution was passed that the Commonwealth Arbitration Act was a failure, and that industrial disputes can best be adjusted by the respective States. The Canadian system is the best for the settlement of disputes beyond the limits of one State. A MUNICIPAL STRIKE. Sydney, September 27. Owing to the dismissal of a sanitary employee under a scheme of retrenchment, the municipal employees at Broken Hill si ruck. The position is serious. Electricity is cut oil', the. abattoirs are not working, and sanitation is neglected.
