THE BESPOKE QUESTION. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Thursday. A decision concerning tae difference between factory made and tailored suits was given by Mr. Justice Sim to-day in the Arbitration Court, on an appeal from the decision of the Magistrate, who oonvicted (he Union Clothing Company of breach of the tailors' award, in that it bad made up another factory order, taken at a Cuba street shop. A customer ordered a suit, was measured and told lie would not have to try it on, and later he was told the suit was faetory made. When he called for the suit he found the sleeves too short, and was fold he could take it or leave it. lie subsequently agreed to take Hie suit if alterations'were made, which were done at the. factory. The Magistrate held that the suit was bespoke work. The Judge held that when an order was given and a customer measured and was not told that the suit would be factory made, the fact that before the completion of the transaction he was told did not make the order any-the-lcss bespoke work.
