A TYPHOON
DISASTROUS RESULTS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 26, 10.10 p.m. Tokio, September 20. Tokio has been telegraphically isolated since September 22, as the result of the typhoon. There is widespread devastation, particularly in the middle of the south coast. Serious shipping losses have occurred; The battleship Satsuma and the gunboat Manshud were dismasted, and four destroyers and five torpedoers are ashore.
A spinning mill and a school convent collapsed at Nagoya, where heavy fatalities occurred.
A torpedo boat sank with all hands at Buruga on Sunday.
