BARON VON BIEBERSTEIN.
TRIBUTES OF ESTEEM. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Berlin, September 25. Sir Edward Grey telegraphed the Government's regret at Baron von Bieber•tein's death. The Government had much appreciated his presence at the Embassy. German newspapers gave a remarkable demonstration of the esteem in •which the late Ambassador was held. Some stated that he should have been Chancellor.
His heart weakness is attributed to excessive cigarette-smoking. The grief at Baron von Bieberstein's death is unprecedented since Bismarcklied.
The North German Gazette opines that his skill would have achieved favorable Anglo-German relations. Paris, September 25.
The newspapers say it would be unjust to describe Baron von Bieberstein's workin London as negative, but a conflict between Britain and Germany is as inevitable as was the Franco-Prussian war.
KING GEORGE'S CONDOLENCES. London, September 25. There are universal press tributes to the late Baron von Bieherstein. King Geovgi-'s condolences were among the first received.
The post mortem revealed that the Baron had been a most heroic-sufferer for years, many organs, especially the beart, being in an advanced state of deterioration and calcification.
