The incomes of persons and companies :iid the classification of assessed incomes i»iis the .subject of a return presented to Parliament to-day. The principal details arc as under:—Over £IOOO and under £•2ooo—persons and firms £1,133,31)0, companies, £220,818; £2OOO and under €3000: Persons and iirms £402.171. companies CI 87,957; C3O0I) and under £400!): Persons and firms £231.030, companies £131,010; £4OOO and under ,0)00: Persons and firms £142,045. companies £115,20!): £SOOO and under £0000: Persons and firms £85,803, companies £201,0(>0; £OOOO and under £7000: Persons and firms £31,811, companies £117,002; £7OOO and under £8000: Persons and firms £BI,OOO, companies £111,030; £BOOO and under £0000: Persons and firms £25,051, companies £115,3!)3; £9OOO to £10,000: Persons and linns £28,414, companies £IiO,OSS. From £20,000 to £25,000 the figures were: Persons and firms £21,705, companies £130,043. Thenceforward the return makes it plain tlmt no person or firms are represented, but the net income of companies is as follows: £25,000 to £30,000, £214,575; £30,000 to £40,000, £239,301; £40,000 to £50,000, £175,041; £50.000 to £OO,OOO, £209,891; £OO,OOO to £70,000, £183.377; £70,000 to £BO,OOO. £151.331; £BO,OOO to £IOO,OOO, £280,007; £IOO,OOO and over, £541,802.
EXPERIMENTAL FARMS, A return showing the expenditure on . various experimental farms in the Do-' minion was laid before the House today. From 1892 to 1904 the cost, given without details, was £87,734. Since then the cost has been £187,659, made up as follows:—Arataki, £9914; Bicker-i ataffe. £10,720; Moumahaki, £28,230; Ruakura, £sl<)f>7; Waerenga, £44,751; Werarda, £55;071; Motuihi (since 1909) £1877; Tauranga, £5123. AX EXPERIMENTAL MEASURE. During the committal stage of the Aged and Infirm Persons Protection Bill in the Legislative Council to-day, the question was asked whether it would not be wise to make the measure also apply to natives. The .Minister of Internal Affairs (the Hon. [I. D. Bell) replied that the Bill was more or less of an experiment, and after its working had' been tested it could be applied to natives if ( it proved satisfactory. At that stage, ■however, he could not agree to any suggested extension.
