ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
A BOY KILLED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Yesterday. The six-year-old son of A. Johnson, at Sefton, was killed last evening through being run over by a whare on wheels attached to a traction engine. A MYSTERY SOLVED. Palmerston North, Yesterday. The body of a man found in the Manawatu river yesterday has been identified as that of Lynn, a cook, who has been missing from the s.s. Gertie for two or three weeks.
LYSOL POISONING. Thames, Last Night. Frank Corcoran, a carter, aged forty, well known as a Thames resident, was found in the outskirts of the borough Buffering from lysol poisoning. He died at the hospital this afternoon. DEATH FROM HEART DISEASE.
Dunedin, Last Night. At the inquest on the body of Frederick Booth, who died suddenly at South Dunedin yesterday, evidence showed that deceased suffered from enteric fever six or seven years ago, but he had not seen a doctor since. He had a fainting fit on Tuesday morning. Medical evidence showed that the internal organs were mostly in a diseased condition, and that death was probably due to a clot of blood entering the right auricle of the heart. A verdict of death from natural causes was returned.
ATTEMPTED SUICIDE. Dunedin, Last Night. The South Dunedin police received intimation this afternoon that James Leonard, aged 34 years, has attempted to commit suicide by cutting his throat at Bridgman street, South Dunedin. He was conveyed to the hospital. It is stated that he was down from the North Island on a holiday. At latest advice Ms condition was said to be not serious.
